Best Seller Star Wars Legends

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

Star Wars Legends, formerly known as Expanded Universe or "EU", encompasses every one of the officially licensed, fictional background stories of the Star Wars universe, outside of the original six Star Wars films produced by George Lucas and certain other material such as Star Wars included "The Clone Wars", created before April 25, 2014. It is derived from and includes most official Star Wars–related books, comic books, video games, spin-off films, television series, toys, and other media created before the date. This material expands and continues the stories told in the films, taking place anywhere from over 36,000 years before The Phantom Menace to 136 years after Return of the Jedi. The issue of which aspects are canon was one of the most hotly debated topics among fans.

On April 25, 2014, Lucasfilm Ltd. announced that in preparation for the upcoming sequel trilogy, the Expanded Universe would not appear in any future Star Wars materials; past tales of the Expanded Universe will be printed under the Star Wars Legends banner, and a new continuity has been established that consists only of the original six films, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series and film, and all future material from that point onward. Though past elements of the Expanded Universe have been declared non-canon as a whole, they remain a resource for future Star Wars material to reference elements of the EU, thus bringing these elements into the new continuity as canon.

Expanded Universe had a continuity with few wrinkles. The general rule was that nothing in the Expanded Universe was allowed to contradict any other part of the Expanded Universe or the films. The films, however, do slightly contradict the Expanded Universe on occasion, and retcons were created in the Expanded Universe to fix these contradictions. In the absence of such ad hoc solutions, the EU is considered incorrect only on the particular points of contradiction.
The Expanded Universe is actually older than the films themselves, as the novelization of the original film was published six months before the film was released. In in-universe chronology, the earliest works are the Dawn of the Jedi comics, which are set millennia before the films, while the latest are the Legacy comics, which are set about one hundred and thirty years after Return of the Jedi.

Life With Candles

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

One of the earliest forms of portable illumination, candles have served vital functions for humankind throughout history, a fact chronicled through the discovery of candles or candle-like objects in virtually every society. Historians believe the original candle may have been invented by primitive men who dipped dried branches in animal fat, thus producing a slow-burning and reliable source of light. Reliefs belonging to the ancient Egyptians depict the use of candles by writers and philosophers who worked well after sundown. These early candles were most likely developed from tapers that were made of fibrous materials mixed with wax or tallow -the white, nearly tasteless fat of cattle or sheep that was also used to make soap, margarine, and lubricants-. As far back as 3000 BC, dish-shaped candles were used on the Island of Crete.

Candles have also been used for religious purposes. The Bible, for instance, makes numerous references to the use of candles, including the story of King Solomon who, after building the Temple, used ten candle-sticks to light the north and south ends of the structure. In the Middle Ages, candle-making became a popular occupation, as evidenced by the creation of many candle-makers' guilds throughout Europe. Later, candles were used as a means of keeping time. At auctions, the bidding time was limited by inserting a pin into a candle and letting the wax melt until the pin dropped, thus concluding that period of time.

Importance of Green Leafy Veggies

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

BENEFITS AND IMPORTANCE OF GREEN LEAFY VEGGIES IN OUR DAILY LIFE.

Stay young
As well as playing a key role in helping blood to clot, vitamin K is critical in preventing certain age-related conditions. Researchers in California found inadequate K can lead to cardiovascular disease, bone fragility, and arterial and kidney calcification. A one-cup|250-mL raw serving of any of the leafy greens here has at least your daily requirement of K, with kale providing more than six times your needs, dandelion greens five times and Swiss chard about three and a half times.

Lower cholesterol
Mustard greens and kale help lower cholesterol. Here’s how: The liver uses cholesterol to make bile acids, which aid in fat digestion. When bile acid binds with the fibre of these greens, it gets excreted from the body—which means the liver has to use up more cholesterol to make new bile acid and, voilĂ , cholesterol levels are reduced. According to a U.S. study in Nutrition Research, steamed mustard greens and kale do this to a greater extent than raw.

Preserve vision health
Leafy greens—in particular kale, dandelion, mustard greens and Swiss chard—are good sources of carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, which help filter high-energy light that may cause eye damage. Lutein and zeaxanthin reduce discomfort caused by glare, decrease the risk of cataracts and increase how far you can see.

Help fuel your body
A one-cup serving of raw escarole provides 1/10 of your daily needs for vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). The B vitamins help convert the carbs in food to glucose that the body can use as a fuel to produce energy. B vitamins are water soluble, which means the body doesn’t store them, so you need to get enough each day.

Boost bone health
The slightly bitter taste of many leafy greens is a good sign: It reflects their high levels of calcium. It’s unlikely you’d be able to eat enough greens in one day to get the 1,000 mg of calcium recommended daily for women ages 31-50, but they can help you get there: A ½-cup serving of dandelion greens contains 78 mg calcium; mustard greens have 55 mg; Swiss chard has 54 mg; and kale has 49 mg.

Prevent colon cancer
Kale and mustard greens are part of the nutrient-rich Brassica family, which also includes broccoli and cabbage. A study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association in 2011 linked a higher intake of these vegetables with a decreased risk of cancer in the ascending section of the colon. In Canada, one in 15 women and one in 14 men are expected to develop colorectal cancer.

Sore Throat Problem ?

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

Sore throat can involve irritation, pain, and itchiness that can make it hard to swallow. You may have difficulty swallowing food and liquids, and the pain may get worse when you try to swallow. Throat pain is the primary symptom of a sore throat. However, other symptoms may include a dry throat, swollen glands in the neck, white patches on the tonsils, and hoarseness.

" CAUSES "

VIRAL INFECTION
The majority of sore throats are triggered by a viral infection. These are infections caused by a virus, such as the cold and flu.

Other types of viral infections include:
mononucleosis: infectious disease typically transmitted through saliva
measles: contagious illnesses characterized by a distinct rash and fever
chickenpox: infection that causes skin sores
croup: infection of the larynx

BACTERIAL INFECTION
A bacterial infection can also cause a sore throat. These types of infections include:

1.Strep throat: inflammation of the throat caused by the 2.Streptococcal bacteria
3.Diphtheria: infectious disease that causes throat inflammation
whooping cough: disease of the respiratory mucous membrane

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Not all sore throats are viral or bacterial. There are several other causes of throat pain. If you’re allergic to mold, pet dander, pollen, or other irritants, exposure to these allergens can trigger post-nasal drip. This is when excess mucus accumulates in the back of your throat. This accumulation can irritate your throat and cause pain or inflammation.

Dry air can also make your throat feel raw and scratchy. Smoking cigarettes or exposure to cigarette smoke can trigger persistent sore throats, as well as throat strain from yelling or too much talking.

GERD
Gastroesophageal reflux disease may also cause your sore throat. This is a digestive condition characterized by the back flow of stomach acid into the esophagus. This condition causes an array of symptoms, such as a sore throat, hoarseness, heartburn, and nausea.

"PREVENTION"

1.Do not share drinking glasses or utensils with others.
2.Use hand sanitizers whenever soap and water are not available.
3.Limit contact with commonly touched surfaces.
4.Reduce exposure to allergens, such as pollen, dust, and mold.
5.Avoid cigarette smoke.
6.Keep a humidifier in your house to eliminate dryness.

"SYMPTOMS"

1.Difficulty breathing
2.Joint pain
3.Difficulty swallowing
4.An earache
5.A rash
6.Fever over 101 degrees F
7.Bloody mucus
8,A lump in the throat
9.Hoarseness for longer than two weeks

"TREATMENTS"

1.Gargling with warm salt water
2.Drinking plenty of warm fluids, such as teas, soup, and water
3.Avoiding allergens and irritants, such as smoke and chemicals
5.Taking throat lozenges
5.Reducing inflammation with ibuprofen or acetaminophen

Dangerous Foods Around The World

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

   Cassava
SCIENTIFIC NAME : Manihot esculenta

Cassava is often used in cake and chips.A tropical root crop, It is grown in Pacific Island countries, South America, Asia and Africa. Most imported raw cassava contains the potentially deadly cyanogenic glycoside, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) warns.
It advises: “To make cassava safe to eat, first peel and slice the cassava and then cook it thoroughly either by baking, boiling or roasting. This process removes the cyanogenic glycosides. Frozen cassava and frozen peeled cassava should also be prepared in this way. Discard any cooking water after use.”

Fugu (fisH)

The fugu is a fish famous for its ability to kill, if it’s not prepared right. It’s a delicacy in Japan, which is home to more than 3800 fugu restaurants, where chefs must go through rigorous training for years to gain the certification that allows them to prepare the fish for human consumption.
Usually eaten raw, the fish contains a poison called tetrododoxin. When consumed, tetrododoxin does not cross the blood-brain barrier, so the victims remain fully conscious while their central nervous system gradually shuts down, first producing dizziness and incoherent speech, then paralysing the muscles. This can lead to asphyxia, and possibly death.

Christmas In Norway

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

 The History Of Christmas

Norway is the birthplace of the Yule log. The ancient Norse used the Yule log in their celebration of the return of the sun at winter solstice. ("Yule") came from the Norse word hweol, meaning wheel. The Norse believed that the sun was a great wheel of fire that rolled towards and then away from the earth. Ever wonder why the family fireplace is such a central part of the typical Christmas scene? This tradition dates back to the Norse Yule log. It is probably also responsible for the popularity of log-shaped cheese, cakes, and desserts during the holidays.

At 4:00 p.m. all work comes to a halt on Christmas Eve in Norway. Everyone bathes and puts on new clothes to greet the season. The largest sheaf of grain is hung out for the birds to make their Christmas merry, too. Christmas dinner begins with rice pudding with a lucky almond hidden in it for someone, and a bowl is also set out for the barn elf so that he will continue to watch over the animals and not turn mischievous. A Christmas pig provides most of the meat dishes. Traditionally the Norwegians kept the season bright with a Yule log.

It literally formed the center of the celebration since it was frequently an entire tree that could only partly fit into the fireplace and so extended well out into the middle of the living room. As it burned it would be pushed farther into the fire to provide continuous light and warmth through the whole Christmas season.

The Christmas tree is taking the place of the Yule log today. The popularity of Santa Claus has resurrected an ancient Norse figure called Julesvenn. In ancient times he would come during the feast of Jul to hide lucky barley stalks around the house. Now he comes on Christmas Eve to bring gifts to good children. After Christmas Day is past, children indulge in a custom much like trick or treat. It is called Julebukk and children wear costumes and go door to door asking for goodies.

How To Begin A Healthy Lifestyle ?

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL!!!

Healthy living starts right now. Experts tell you how :

TAKE STOCK

* Make appointments with your doctor and dentist *
( Screening and immunizations, and take the opportunity to ask your doctor any questions you might have.)

* Gauge your girth *
( Measure your height and weight to check your BMI, and measure your waist circumference to see if you're overweight and if your waistline is putting your health at risk.)

* Assess your activity *
(How much physical activity do you get in a typical week? How intense is that activity? How much variety do you get in your activity, and how much do you enjoy it? The CDC recommends that adults get at least two and a half hours per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or one hour and 15 minutes per week of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity, plus muscle-strengthening activities at least two days per week.)

MOVE MORE

(Make it fun,Keep track of it,Set a weekly goal for activity,Work activity into your day.)

UPGRADE YOUR DIET

(Replace "I should" with "I choose." So instead of "I should be eating more fruits and vegetables," it's "I choose to eat more fruits and vegetables" or "I choose not to.Choose to plan. Stock your pantry with healthy fare and bring healthy snacks with you so you're prepared when you get hungry.Slow down and savor your food. Don't watch TV, work, or drive while you're eating.Shoot for five to nine daily servings of varied fruits and vegetables. Cover the rainbow of fruit and vegetable colors to get a good mix of nutrients.)

MANAGE STRESS

(Routine maintenance: Develop positive coping skills, such as meditation and visualization, and look for activities, such as yoga or exercise, to keep your baseline stress level in check.)

(Breakthrough stress: Find ways to handle stressful situations that flare up without warning. For instance, Williams says that after a stressful meeting at work, you might run up and down the stairs a few times to burn off anger, or retreat to a bathroom stall to take a few deep breaths and refocus.)

CHALLENGE YOUR MIND

(Knopman explains that brain fitness is influenced by many factors, including education and opportunities for mentally stimulating activities starting in childhood, and also by the presence or absence of depression, diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure, and other risks.

Observational studies have shown that people who engage in mentally stimulating activities may be less likely to develop dementia. But Knopman notes that such studies don't prove cause and effect, so it's not clear if mentally stimulating activities protect against dementia or whether people with healthier brains are drawn to those activities in the first place.)

Miss Universe The host has mistaken to announce the winner

HI GOOD DAY TO ALL !!!

The host of the Miss Universe pageant mistakenly announced the wrong winner on Sunday, who then had to give up the crown and hand it over to a 26-year-old actress and model from the Philippines.
It was the first edition of the annual beauty show since it was thrust into controversy when then co-owner and U.S. presidential candidate, Donald Trump, made disparaging remarks about immigrants.

Host Steve Harvey incorrectly announced that Miss Colombia had won the 64th edition of the contest, broadcast live on the Fox television network.
The eventual winner, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, a Filipino-German actress and model born in Stuttgart and raised in Cagayan de Oro, was initially runner-up.

But them Harvey announced to the audience that he had made a gaffe.
Ariadna Gutierrez Arévalo, 21, of Sincelejo, Colombia, had already been crowned by Miss Universe of 2014, Paulina Vega of Barranquilla, Colombia, who was forced to remove the crown and give it to Miss Philippines. Olivia Jordan, 27, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, finished third.

"I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines for my huge mistake," Harvey said on Twitter. " -I feel terrible."

Wurtzbach appeared to take the blunder in her stride.
"It's a very non-traditional crowning moment," she said backstage afterward in a video clip of a conversation with Miss USA posted by the Miss Universe pageant on its Twitter feed. "It is very 2015."

Earlier, when asked why she wanted to be Miss Universe, Wurtzbach said: "I will use my voice to influence the youth and I would raise awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness, that is timely and relevant to my country."

It was the first Miss Universe title for a contestant from the Philippines in more than 40 years.

What Causes Chapped Lips?

Lips don’t contain oil glands like other parts of the skin. For this reason, the lips are more susceptible to drying out and becoming chapped or cracked. Lack of moisture can make the problem worse, whether it’s weather-induced or related to a lack of self-care. Lack of humidity in the air during the winter months is known to cause chapped lips. Frequent sun exposure in the summer can also worsen your condition.Another common cause of chapped lips is habitual licking. Saliva from the tongue can further strip the lips of moisture, causing more dryness.

"Chapped Lips "How to Treat and Prevent ? Chapped lips can usually be treated at home. The first step is to make sure that your lips have enough moisture :

1. Applying lip balm throughout the day, as needed
2. Drinking more water
3. Using a humidifier in the home

KATY PERRY - Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson ,born October 25, 1984, better known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations. After being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Taylor Alison Swift ,born December 13, 1989 is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony-ATV Music publishing house. The release of Swift's self-titled debut album in 2006 marked the start of her career as a country music singer. Her third single, "Our Song," made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008. Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me," Fearless became the best-selling album of 2009 in the United States. The album won four Grammy Awards, making Swift the youngest ever Album of the Year winner. Swift's third and fourth albums, 2010's Speak Now and 2012's Red, both sold more than one million copies within the first week of their U.S release. Speak Now's "Mean" won two Grammy Awards, while Red's singles "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble" were successful worldwide. Swift's fifth album, the pop-focused 1989, was released in 2014 and sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous 12 years, making Swift the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in the opening release week. Its singles "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Deadliest Animals In The World

HI GOOD DAY TO AL!!!

Today when I'm scanning my old book about Science related to the Animals,I found out the Deadliest animals that very harmful around us.Sometimes they're so lovely to see only but we cannot ignore the fact that they are dangerous or some animals.I prefer Dog if I'm given me a chance to have a pet I'd rather chose the dog instead .Some dangerous animals are below :

SHARK - While sharks kill fewer than 20 people a year, their own numbers suffer greatly at human hands.Sharks are known as eating machines. But because many species are cold-blooded, some sharks eat only about 2 percent of their body weight each day. That's a bit less than humans typically eat.

JELLYFISH - If you have ever been swimming and noticed a jellyfish floating toward you, odds are you scrambled to get away as quickly as you possibly could. It is tough to spot jellyfish. Being translucent, they can often blend right into the ocean currents.
Thankfully they tend to catch the light, which helps them to stand out under the right conditions. While jellyfish have no brains and are relatively simple creatures, they are equipped for survival. Jellies typically have stinging cells in their tentacles known as nematocysts.

CAPE BUFFALOES - Buffalo are large members of the Bovidae family. There are two types of buffalo: the African or Cape buffalo and the Asian water buffalo. They are dark gray or black animals that look a lot like bulls.
Buffalo are often confused with bison. Early American settlers called bison "buffalo" because the animals are similar in appearance. However, while bison are also bovines (a subfamily of bovids), they are in a different genus from true buffalo. Other bovines include domestic cattle, oxen, yaks, four-horned antelopes, bongos and kudus, according to the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS).

LION - Nicknamed "the king of the jungle," the lion possesses both beauty and strength. Lions vary in color but typically sport light yellow-brown coats. Mature male lions are unique among big cats due the thick brown or black manes that encircle their necks and protect them while fighting. Lions consume a wide variety of prey, from wildebeest, impala, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and wild hogs to sometimes rhinos and hippos. They will also feed on smaller animals such as hares, birds and reptiles. Lions are also known to attack elephants when food is scarce.

CROCODILES - Are large reptiles found in tropical regions of Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. They are members of the order Crocodilia, which also includes caimans, gharials and alligators. There are 13 species of crocodiles, so there are many different sizes of crocodile. The smallest crocodile is the dwarf crocodile. It grows to about 5.6 feet (1.7 meters) in length and weighs 13 to 15 pounds (6 to 7 kilograms). The largest crocodile is the saltwater crocodile. The largest one ever found was 20.24 feet (6.17 m) long. They can weigh up to 2,000 pounds (907 kg).
